With upgrades to the game’s already-stunning graphics engine slated for 2010, Aion is a strong contender as MMO-of-choice under the tree this holiday season.

MMORPGs have really hit the big time the past couple of years and with so many different genres of this game, NCsoft are really taking things to the next level with their latest addition AION online. This game certainly competes with the likes of the big boys of World of Warcraft and NCsoft’s other creation of Guild Wars. Does it have what it takes to convert other gamers away from what can seem like a cult religion of gaming?

As a game receives members continually, many distinct fanarts will spurt out. About a month ago, Ncsoft’s massively multiplayer online (MMO) game Aion went live in North America and Europe, following a successful launch in the Asian market. So far, the game continues to soar as Ncsoft nears its one millionth unit sold.

Now there is a challenger for its crown: Aion, created by the South Korean company NCSoft. The game had already been ordered by more than 400,000 players across Europe and North America before its launch in Britain yesterday.

Turning its eye now to attractive Western markets, NCsoft said today that Aion will launch on the PC in North America on September 22, with the European rollout occurring three days later.
